A Columbus woman was stabbed in the chest Saturday night, though she is in stable condition, police said.
Police responded to a Wade Street home around 8 p.m. about someone being stabbed. When an officer arrived, he found a 29-year-old woman lying on the ground in front of an apartment, reports state.
The woman told the officer she was having an argument with another woman she didn’t know when the other person stabbed her in the chest with a small kitchen knife, police said.
Witnesses, however, told police that the two women had been arguing throughout the day, starting again around 8 p.m. The 29-year-old moved aggressively toward the suspect, who then stabbed her with the knife, reports state.
The woman who’d been stabbed told officers that she didn’t know who stabbed her. She declined to answer any more questions and said she didn’t want to prosecute, police said.
Reports listed the woman in stable condition.
