A Columbus man who claims he only wanted to say hello to a 12-year-old girl faces a charge of enticing a child for indecent purposes, police said.
Bobby Wesley Jr., 53, is accused of grabbing the girl’s arm and pulling her away from her aunt’s South Andrews Circle home Friday night. The girl escaped and started running to her Cusseta Road home while the suspect followed her, telling her she shouldn’t be scared, reports state.
The girl reached her home, and her sister then followed the suspect to Victory Mobile Home Park. Officers found the suspect hiding when they arrived, though he told them he didn’t know anything about the girl’s story, police said.
The suspect later told police he only wanted to say hello, reports state.
