Two businesses on University Avenue were burglarized over the weekend, though the thieves got little more than an empty cash register and a Red Bull.
Amanda’s Spa Nails and Finesse Salon, both suites at 2901 University Ave., were entered sometime between Saturday and 1:25 a.m. Monday, reports state.
Police say someone threw a roofing shingle through glass at Amanda’s Spa Nails, causing $400 in damage. They entered and tossed the cash register onto the floor, causing $300 in damage to it.
The only thing taken from the store, however, was one can of Red Bull worth $2.30, reports state.
At Finesse Salon, the suspect threw a bucket through the window, causing $400 in damage. The only thing missing was the store’s cash register, which had no money inside it, police report.
