The Muscogee County School Board will hold a work session tonight at 5 p.m. in the board room of the Muscogee County Public Education Center.
During the work session, the board will discuss a contract for a new student information system with Infinite Campus.
The board was informed in October 2008 that the old student information system, SASI, was being discontinued and that they would have to select a new system to keep track of student information. The board selected Crosspointe in August 2009. In July 2010 the district's data center suffered a catastrophic hardware crash, wiping out the entire student system database.
The district severed its contract with Crosspointe and reverted back to SASI to begin the school year.
Never miss a local story.
If the board approves a contract with Infinite Campus at its board meeting next week, the new system will cost the district $1.15 million for the first year and $2.5 million over five years.
