Credit-card processor TSYS has inked two more contracts with companies in Canada and Switzerland.
The agreements were announced today, hours before Columbus-based TSYS issues its third-quarter earnings report.
One deal calls for TSYS to process 1.2 million consumer and commercial cards for Swisscard AECS AG, headquartered near Zurick, Switzerland. Swisscard is a joint venture between Credit Suisse AG and American Express.
Card brands issued by Swisscard include MasterCard, Visa and, of course, American Express. The transition to the TSYS system is expected to take place in the third quarter of next year.
The other agreement is with Bank of Montreal, which does business in Canada and the United States. The bank, founded in 1817, is the largest MasterCard issuer in Canada, TSYS said.
Terms of both contracts, including their length, were not disclosed.
In recent weeks, TSYS also has signed processing and service agreements with Bank of Ireland and Cynergy Data.
TSYS shares (Ticker: TSS) were up 24 cents, or 1.5 percent, to $15.94 in early-afternoon trading today on the New York Stock Exchange.
