Bishop Teresa Snorton, D.Min., the first female bishop in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, will be in town next weekend to lead a women’s conference and preach for a Women's Day service.
Snorton serves the 11th Episcopal District, with oversight of 10 countries in southern and central Africa.
The conference is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center. It’s sponsored by Phillips Temple CME Church in Phenix City.
In addition to the conference, Snorton will headline the Phillips Temple Women’s Day service at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 14.
Snorton was elected to her post last summer. She lives in Atlanta with her husband, Charles Short.
