Three Muscogee County students received new netbook computers for winning the district's annual "Compute the Future" writing contest.
Elijah Daniel, a student at Downtown Elementary, Farita Tasnim, a student at Blackmon Road Middle and Austin Lewis, a student at the Early College Academy each received a Lenovo netbook for their essays on digital citizenship.
Students at all the county's schools had an opportunity to write essays for the contests. Essays were evaluated by an independent panel of judges and narrowed to 15 finalists.
Each of the finalists received a certificate and medal for their work. The finalists that did not receive a computer were presented with a 4 GB flash drive.
