Tired of maintaining a digital friendship with your high school rival? Sick of getting FarmVille updates from your former colleagues?
You're in luck. Late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel has scheduled National UnFriend Day for Wednesday, Nov. 17. Kimmel discusses the new holiday in the video that accompanies this page.
The day's goal? Limit your Facebook friends to the people you actually consider friends. That might mean "unfriending" the high school pal who now only floods your news feed with cringe-inducing baby updates.
Of course, "unfriending" is often a tricky process. Many people would rather keep a large supply of Facebook friends than deal with the awkwardness that comes with severing digital ties.
Don't know how to delete a Facebook friend? It's easy. Visit a friend's page and click "Remove from Friends" at the bottom left corner. Your former friend will not be notified about the change.
