The United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley reported Thursday it's 82 percent toward its annual goal.
The amount raised, or pledged, so far is $5.34 million toward the $6.5 million total.
“As we approach Thanksgiving, I hope everyone remembers those less fortunate and will make their gift to the campaign,” said Helen Johnson, the honorary chair for Thursday's meeting. “We cannot rest on this early success and think that the goal is an easy reach. We will not take anyone’s gift for granted. Together, we will meet and hopefully exceed the goal, which means that people are able to get help when they need it.”
Locally, the United Way serves 49 programs and 26 agencies in Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Russell, Stewart, Talbot and Taylor counties in Georgia and Russell County in Alabama.
