Army officials took two more people into custody for allegedly crossing onto Fort Benning at Sunday’s SOA Watch protest.
Christopher Spicer and Michael Omondi are both accused of scaling the barbed-wire fence on Fort Benning around noon, said Monica Manganaro, a public information officer with the post.
“They came over within a few minutes of each other,” she added.
Louis John Vitale and Nancy H. Smith, both 78, were arrested Saturday on similar accusations. Both allegedly stepped onto post at Interstate 185, Manganaro said.
Sunday’s turnout at the annual event was estimated at 3,885 around noon. That’s about 2,000 less than this time last year, said Columbus Police Capt. J.D. Hawk.
