The Tigers, who were idle this week, had a BCS average of .9682. Oregon is No. 1 at .9764. That's a difference of .0082, up from .0066 last week.
Auburn remained the top team in the computer rankings.
TCU remains No. 3 in the overall rankings, followed by Boise State and LSU.
The gap that matters — between Auburn at second and TCU at third — narrowed, but not significantly. The Tigers lead by .0687 over the Horned Frogs, closer than the .0721 lead a week ago.
The top two teams in the rankings at the end of the regular season play in the BCS national championship game.
