Jodi Lumsden, a teacher at Harris County High, has been selected as the Harris County School District Teacher of the Year.
Lumsden has taught for 25 years -- 15 of those in Harris County -- and currently teaches Advanced Placement chemistry and honors chemistry at the county's only high school. She will represent Harris County as a candidate in the 2012 Georgia Teacher of the Year program.
"I am extremely proud, honored and humbled to represent Harris County as their Teacher of the Year. My hope as always is to represent Harris County and its students well," Lumsden said in a release.
If selected as the Georgia Teacher of the Year, Lumsden would qualify for the National Teacher of the Year Award.
