A Muscogee County Prison inmate walked off his work detail this morning, prison officials said.
Randall Sheppard, 24, was on a cleaning detail at the Woodruff Farm Soccer Center when he apparently escaped, said Sgt. Bernard Strong. Authorities got the call about the walk off at 9:42 a.m., the sergeant added.
Sheppard was incarcerated on a probation violation. He was accused of committing a burglary and loitering - accusations that sent him to the prison. He was due to be released March 26, said Warden Bill Adamson.
Sheppard is white, 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a white inmate uniform that has a blue stripe down the pants legs, a blue collar and a blue line down the front of the shirt, Strong said.
