Police in Opelika, Ala., today said they're searching for a suspect in the Friday shooting death of Tavares Trammell Jones.
Investigators said officers found Jones, 30, shortly after 10 p.m. EST lying in a vacant lot at King's Mobile Home Estates, 3500 Dale Ave. He had multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and lower abdomen, authorities said.
Jones was taken by ambulance to the East Alabama Medical Center, where emergency room doctors pronounced him dead at 10:57 p.m. Eastern.
Police said they were called to the trailer park on an anonymous complaint of gunshots and a possible assault victim. Investigators did not identify the suspect.
