Columbus polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today for a runoff election that will determine who becomes Columbus’ next mayor.
Nancy Boren, executive director of the Muscogee County Office of Elections and Registration, expects a turnout of 25,000. About 10,000 people have already voted in advance.
While there was the usual rush when polls opened this morning, voting sites are now just seeing a steady stream of voters, Boren said.
“People were in line at 6:30 on November 2nd,” she added. “We didn’t see a whole lot of that this morning.”
Races in today’s election include:
Zeph Baker and Teresa Tomlinson for mayor.
Travis Chambers and Judy Thomas for Council Post 9.
Bruce Huff and Julius Hunter for Council Post 3.
David Nahmias and Tammy Lynn Adkins for the Georgia Supreme Court.
Antoinette “Toni” Davis and Chris McFadden for the state Court of Appeals.
