Demario Quantez Chambliss, 21, was convicted today of the murder of 33-year-old Eric Fluellen, prosecutors said.
It took jurors about three hours over Tuesday and today to find Chambliss guilty of murder, Chief Deputy District Attorney Buster Landreau said. Chambliss was accused of fatally shooting Fluellen on Dec. 10, 2009, after Fluellen came to the defendant’s Hurtsboro, Ala., house to get his sister.
Problems had existed between the families because of a relationship between Chanel Fluellen, one of the victim’s sisters, and the defendant.
Chambliss’ sentencing is scheduled for January, Landreau said.
