One woman had her door kicked in and another had shots fired into her home Wednesday morning at Lumpkin Park Apartments, Columbus police said.
Both incidents happened around 10:30 a.m. One 36-year-old woman told police that someone tried to get inside her home by kicking in her front door, causing $250 in damage, reports state.
She was uninjured.
The suspect is a black man, 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds. He wore a black hoodie and black pants, police said.
While investigating the attempted burglary, officers learned that the suspect may have dropped a jacket by the 1100 building. They found an orange, black and green jacket in the parking lot, reports state.
Around the same time, a 27-year-old woman was making breakfast for her daughter in the same apartment building when she heard several shots fired. Police report that shots were fired into her home, causing $300 in damage.
No injuries were reported.
