Jennie Walker of Columbus, who now lives in New York City, is in the Top 10 of the British Airways "Face of Opportunity" contest.
Walker, who owns Jennie Walker Music Publishing, had to make a pitch to British Airways, including how a CD release party in London would help her new album, "Night Flight to London." She also had several ideas for partnership with the airline with her single, "Night Flight to London."
More than 1,200 small businesses entered the contest.
Now, she needs your votes. If she is one of the Top Three vote getters, Walker will participate in events in New York.
Never miss a local story.
If she does make it to the final three, she will have five minutes to pitch her company to judges like Bill Rancic ("The Apprentice"), Bethenney Frankel ("The Real Housewives of New York" and "Skating with the Stars") and Barbara Corcoran (a realtor and owner of the Corcoran Group).
And if Walker wins, she will receive round-trip tickets to any destination where the airline goes. She will host the CD release party in London, where she will participate in media events and business meetings to help her career. She'll meet with music publishers, licensing firms, management companies, producers and other recording artists.
