Young Singers of West Georgia are giving their Christmas performance, "Christmas Memories," at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 and 18 at First Baptist on the Square, 100 Broad St. in LaGrange, Ga.
Tickets for Young Singers “Christmas Memories” are $10 and may be purchased at Hill Street House, Plum Southern, Stephens Exclusives, from any choir member, or by calling 706-594-1699. “Over the years, Christmas Memories has grown and developed into a full musical production that serves for many families to herald in the holiday season,” Stacey Hardigree, conductor and artistic director of Young Singers of West Georgia, said in a media release.
“Combining a musical variety of old and new, popular and sacred, the show captures the many emotions of Christmas. The wonder of youth, the excitement of the holidays, and the spiritual importance of Christmas are all interwoven into an experience that showcases some of the community’s most talented young vocalists.” Featuring 100 choir members ages eight to 18, the production includes solos, ensembles and whole-choir performances. Marty Davis, the former choral director at LaGrange High School, has played an active supportive role in preparing the choristers for the Christmas Memories production. “It is such a joy to work alongside a veteran music educator who continues to share her expertise with the area’s young musicians,” said Hardigree.
“Marty brings so much to the table in the areas of vocal coaching, planning, and programming.” “In addition, this year we are very excited to highlight our large senior class of choir members,” said Hardigree. “Twelve young women have been with the group since third grade and are celebrating ten wonderful years with Young Singers. They are dedicated musicians who bring a wealth of talent to this production.” Tickets for Young Singers “Christmas Memories” are $10 and may be purchased at Hill Street House, Plum Southern, Stephens Exclusives, from any choir member, or by calling 706-594-1699.
