The name has changed, but its purpose is basically the same. The Columbus State University Schwob School of Music's old Conservatory is now the Preparatory Division.
Led by new faculty member Zoran Jakovcic, the open house is 10 a.m.-noon Saturday in the Schwob School of Music, RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, 900 Broadway.
The Preparatory Division includes instruction on all musical instruments and voice.
Private study ensures students learn technical and musical skills, and is for students of all ages from beginners to advanced.
Private lessons include two 15-week semesters in the fall and spring and a 13-week summer session.
Tuition runs from $360-$720 per semester.
The faculty includes established area teachers, who will be trained and selected to teach in the Preparatory Division.
The open house is free.
