A Gentian Boulevard renter lost his two dogs and more than $1,000 in tools in two separate incidents last week, Columbus police said.
The 30-year-old went to his Gentian home Thursday evening to feed his dogs and found them missing. When he examined the chain link lead he had on the dogs, he saw that bolt cutters had been used to cut the metal, reports state.
Police said a dog house and a bag of dog food had been taken.
The renter is in the process of moving from the home. When he returned to the house on Saturday, he found the home’s back door kicked out and two basement windows broken. A guitar and amplifier, stereo, tool set, weed eater, leaf blower and hand truck were missing, reports state.
Police said the burglary happened between 11:55 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
