Auburn added another highly-ranked recruit just two days before National Signing Day, when Marcus Roberson, Rivals' No. 2-ranked cornerback, committed to the Tigers on Monday.
Roberson made his announcement on his Facebook page, writing, "I (committed) to Auburn ... (I) appreciate every school for recruiting me and (I) think all of them (are) great places."
Roberson, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound four-star recruit from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is the No. 2 cornerback nationally according to Rivals, while ESPN ranks him ninth. Scout lists him as the No. 4 cornerback.
Rivals ranks him as the No. 37 recruit in the country.
He picked Auburn over Texas Tech, Florida, Georgia and USC. He briefly committed to the Red Raiders earlier this month but said he was keeping his options open. His uncle, Otis Mounds, is a Texas Tech defensive graduate assistant.
But he ended up choosing Auburn, which he last visited in September.
Roberson is Auburn's 23rd commitment for 2011. Teams can sign up to 28 on National Signing Day and enroll 25 in August.
