ABC's repeat "Bachelor" Brad Womack eliminated three out of 11 women on the week-five episode of ABC's popular dating reality show. Marissa and Lisa M. have had little airtime and likely weren't surprise eliminations but Ashley S., a New York nanny, received the first impression rose during week one of the show and had a successful one-on-one date with Brad this season. She was eliminated during the two-on-one date with dentist Ashley H. Brad was required to send one woman home.
Eliminated week five:
Ashley S.: a 26-year-old nanny from New York. She got the first impression rose during week one for telling Brad that she wanted to be his friend. "I feel like they always say the same thing. 'You're going to be such a great wife. You're just not the one for me.'"
Lisa M.: a 24-year-old marketing coordinator from Ottawa, Kan. "I wanted to find love... It's hard to start liking a guy and not have time to express yourself... it just sucks."
Marissa: a 26-year-old sports publicist from Kissimmee, Fla. "It hurts to have to leave feeling like I was rejected. I put myself out there time and time again and it wasn't right. I didn't fit. I left behind a lot to come here."
The following eight women will continue to week six in Costa Rica:
Emily: a 24-year-old hospital event planner from Charlotte, NC. Emily has a daughter and was engaged to a race car driver who died in a place crash.
Shawntel: a 25-year-old funeral director from Chico, Calif.
Ashley H: a 26-year-old dentist from Philadelphia.
Michelle: a 30-year-old hair stylist and mother of one from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Alli: a 24-year-old apparel merchant from Columbus, Ohio. She says guys have broken up with her because she has a big booty.
Britt: a 25-year-old food writer from Woodinville, Wash.
Jackie: a 27-year-old artist from New York.
Chantal: a 28-year-old executive assistant from Seattle. She slapped Brad "for every woman in America" when she met him on the week one episode. Brad appreciated her "aggressiveness."
Here's a recap:
His first one-on-one date was with Shawntel. They went on a shopping spree at several high-end Vegas shops. "It was definitely the beginning of something serious," Shawntel said. After shopping, Shawntel returned to the girls' hotel suite and shared her shopping finds. The other girls were jealous. Shawntel changed into one of her new dresses to have a romantic dinner with Brad. Over dinner, Shawntel told Brad about her job as an embalmer at a funeral home and her cross-eyed cat, Peaches. "Tonight's conversation is a little different than I'm used to on a first date," Brad said. "I think you're the hottest funeral director I've ever met," Brad told Shawntel. "She makes me feel so comfortable and at ease," Brad said. Shawntel got a rose. "I'm very blessed to be here with Brad," she said.
Jackie, Emily, Lisa, Marissa, Alli, Chantal, Britt and Michelle were selected for the group date which was to race cars at a Nascar track. For Emily, this was tough because her fiance, who died in a plane crash, was once a race-car driver. When Brad realized Emily was upset, he took her aside and said she didn't have to race and that the whole group would leave if that's what she wanted. She refused. "It's good for me," she said. She drove her first few laps for Ricky, but she said her last lap was for herself and her future. "I'm ready to move on and find love again," she said. After racing, the group went to a private pool for a party. Brad took Emily aside again and told her that he was worried that Ricky was still at the forefront of her mind. She assured him that she was ready to move on. When he rejoined the group, Brad wasn't done with the drama and tears. "It's hard to feel special," a crying Alli said. Chantal O. said she liked that Brad took the time to comfort Emily but that it was hard to watch. When an awkward group dynamic disappointed Brad, Michelle took him aside and lifted his spirits. "I love kissing Michelle," Brad said. But not enough to give her the rose. He gave that to Emily to show her that he really cared for her and wasn't going to be intimated by her past.
The two Ashleys were picked for the two-on-one date. Brad is required to send one woman home. The Ashleys are best friends and cried when they discovered they'd been pitted against each other. Brad said he chose the Ashleys because he had strong feelings and serious doubts about both women. The trio spent an emotional afternoon rehearsing with a Las Vegas show cast. After the rehearsals, Brad and the Ashleys had dinner. He told Ashley S. that he had an instant connection with her and he told Ashley H. that she helped him realize that he could make the difficult journey on the show. He eliminated Ashley S., who received the first impression rose on the first episode of the season. "Finding love is really important to me. I've been with certain guys in relationships and then at the end of it they don't want to be with me. It just makes you feel like something is wrong with me... I just feel really sad... I had such a good time with him." Brad was sad to say goodbye but confident that he'd made the right choice. "This is the most difficult decision I've had to make in this entire experience yet... I have to say goodbye to people that I care about along the road or journey that ends up in finding a wife," Brad said. On her limo ride home, Ashley S. said, "I feel like they always say the same thing. 'You're going to be such a great wife. You're just not the one for me.'"
At the cocktail party, Brad told Chantal O. that she needed to stop giving his so much crap. She said she was just giving him crap because she liked him. Brad took Alli aside and brought her sparkling wine and chocolate to make her feel special. Marissa wrote Brad some notes and stuffed them in an envelop for him to read when he had time and needed a pick-me-up. Michelle took Brad into her bedroom and told him not to talk. She kissed him and said it was time to send some of the ladies home.
Eliminated week four:
Lindsay: a 25-year-old first grade teacher from Plano, Texas. "It's disappointing that I'm going home tonight but I'm just not the girl for Brad. Rejection is always hard. But I think I was true to myself and I think my dad is going to be so proud of me for being the daughter that he and my mom both raised me to be."
Meghan: a 30-year-old fashion marketer from New York. "I'm totally bummed out... it's a blow to the ego... maybe my walls are too high." She and Brad had a conversation earlier in the episode where Brad said he admired Meghan's independence but felt like he wasn't getting to know her very well.
Stacey: a 26-year-old bartender from Boston. "I want to be in love with somebody. I don't know when I'm going to find the right guy. Hopefully soon. I'm sick of dating."
Eliminated during week three:
Madison: the 25-year-old model from Brooklyn, who wore fake Vampire fangs in the first two episodes, walked away during the elimination rose ceremony. Madison said: "I came here because it sounded fabulous... but it's not so easy as just walking into a fairy tale and walking out with Prince Charming... Things may have worked out very differently if I'd come in and shown all my cards and been the real me from the very beginning... There's every chance I'll wake up tomorrow and wonder what the heck I just did... I just let a great man walk into the arms of some other girl."
Sarah P: a 27-year-old real estate broker from Denver, had a test for Brad during week one. Sarah asked Brad to get down on one knee and repeat after her. She said "Will you Marry Me," which Brad repeated. Sarah said "yes" and Brad admitted that wasn't so hard. "Everybody wants to come here and find love. It doesn't happen for everybody. I have so much happiness and love to offer. When you put yourself out there, you hope for something to come back but sometimes it doesn't. Not being chosen, that really hurts. Rejection sucks."
Kimberly: a 27-year-old marketing coordinator from Charlotte, NC. "I have no regrets. I wouldn't have done a thing differently. There just wasn't that connection. I think he was intimated by me. I'm talented, smart, successful. Some guys find me attractive. The list could go on. I could turn around tomorrow and start dating someone else and be fine with it. (Expletive deleted) Brad! His loss."
Eliminated week two of season 15:
Raichel: This 29-year-old manscaper from Fullerton, Calif. waxed Brad's wrist on the week-one episode. He said it hurt. A lot. About being eliminated, Raichel said: "I don't feel like I should be sitting here upset... I came here to fall in love. I didn't come here to get so upset by another girl." She and Melissa had several arguments during the two episodes.
Keltie: The 28-year-old Radio City Rockette from Hollywood showed Brad how to do high kicks during week one. "If they gave out an Oscar for worst dater ever, it would go to this girl. I'm the worst. I'm just so awkward. Honestly, I don't know if love is in the cards for me."
Melissa: The 32-year-old waitress from Lake Worth, Fla. was still complaining about Raichel in her exit interview. "I think there are several girls who targeted me... I had a really hard time in this house."
Eliminated week one of season 15:
Renee: a 28-year-old nanny from Palos Hills, Ill.
Cristy: a 30-year-old attorney from Ft. Lauderdale.
Lacey: a 27-year-old insurance agent from Tampa, Fla.
Lauren: a 26-year-old high school teacher from Arlington Va.
Lisa P: a 27-year-old sales consultant from New York.
Britnee: a 25-year-old paralegal from Holland, Pa.
Jill: a 28-year-old sales director from Frisco, Texas.
Rebecca: a 30-year-old esthetician from Mission Valejo, Calif.
J: a 26-year-old operations manager from Seattle. The filming of week one's episode was her birthday.
Sarah L: a 25-year-old musical theater performer from Saginaw, Mich.
Here's a recap of the week-four episode:
Michelle started the episode with a mysterious black eye. She said she just woke up with a swollen eye and a bruised lower eyelid. She guessed it was stress or perhaps she punched herself while she was sleeping. "I wish I was the one who gave Michelle her black eye," Ashley S. said. Did Michelle's eye issue earn her sympathy from Brad? Not really. "That's weird," he said.
Brad's first one-on-one date was with Chantal. Chantal married her high school sweetheart when she was young and admitted that she's had very little dating experience since her divorce. Brad and Chantal took a helicopter ride to the ocean, boarded a boat and put on special dive-like gear that made it possible for them to walk along the ocean's floor. "I really, really, really don't want to get in the water," a nervous Chantal said. She faced her fears and ended up loving the ocean. "I think that I could be Chantal Womack, definitely," she said. After swimming, Chantal and Brad retired to a romantic private cabana where they shared a meal and talked while rain poured down outside. Thanks to the rain, they were able to spend extra time together. Brad said he wanted to grab Chantal's hand and run away. Chantal said she never wanted to leave their private cabana. She got a rose.
Brad took Jackie, Ashley H., Ashley S., Stacey, Lindsay, Alli, Meghan, Lisa and Brit on a group date to Dr. Drew's radio show. Michelle was glad not to be invited on the group date. "There's a really good chance that if I don't get my own date this week Brad might get his own black eye."
Brad told the women on the group date that he'd never cheated on a girlfriend. He wanted to know if they had ever been unfaithful. Stacey confessed that she had cheated on a boyfriend once. Brad thanked her for being honest. When Brad was asked what his type was, he said he didn't have one. "I want to form a very true connection... I want someone I can be myself around," he said. While swimming at Brad's bachelor pad after the radio show, the women competed for alone time with Brad. They kept interrupting eachother's private conversations. No one thought she had enough one-on-one time with Brad on the group date. Britt told Brad that she had a crush on him. They chatted and kissed until Ashley H. walked up. Ashely told Brad that she hated watching him with other girls and hearing other girls talk about their feelings. Brad encouraged her not to be frustrated. When she said it would be easier to cope if she pretended she wasn't that into him, Brad told her, "I'm not going to let you take a step back... you gotta hang in there." Brad wanted to show Ashely H. that he still cared for her by giving her a rose but when he brought the rose to the hot tub where several women were standing, Ashely said "this is awkward." Brad got mad and said he was changing his plan. He gave Britt the rose."I think I may have ruined what Brad and I have," Ashley said.
When Brad picked up Michelle he asked to talk to Ashley H. before leaving with Michelle. "You and I do have something very real," Brad told Ashley. Ashley said she was having a hard time dealing with her emotions and she thanked Brad for comforting her. "This is going to give me the strength to get through," she said. Michelle was "pissed" that Ashley was taking time away from Michelle's date. Chantal reminded Michelle that she behaved the same way during the first group date and Brad took time away from the other girls to comfort an upset Michelle.
Brad and Michelle took a helicopter ride to the top of a tall building. Brad told Michelle that they were going to repel down the side of a building and then have a poolside dinner. Michelle, who's scared of heights was "freaking out." "I can't do this. There's no way," she said. Brad was putting on a brave face for Michelle but he told cameras, "This is the scariest thing I've ever attempted to do in my entire life." They made it safely to the ground and even shared a kiss on the way. Over dinner, Brad said he wanted to meet Michelle's daughter. Michelle said she would love that. She got a rose. "I can see my life with Michelle working out very well... I see this happening. I do," Brad said. "I think it's time for all the girls to go home. He is mine," Michelle said.
At the cocktail party, Brad gave Emily a gift basket. Brad and Emily had a one-on-one date on the week three episode. The other women were jealous. "It was an ego check," Meghan said. Chantal agreed. "The kissing thing I came to expect... You don't prepare yourself to watch him pull out a gift for another girl... It feels like a punch in the stomach." Brad led Emily to a private spot at the house. He spread out a blanket, poured her some wine and told her that he wanted to recreate their wine-tasting date. "I've been looking forward to seeing Emily all week," Brad said. Emily seemed surprised but pleased.
