The speculation is over. Isaiah Crowell is a Georgia Bulldog.
The Carver running back revealed his college choice today, national signing day, and with a national audience through online streams and a live broadcast on ESPNU.
Crowell (6-foot, 210 pounds) has spent the previous year at the center of a recruiting war. Dozens of colleges offered scholarships to the running back, ranked the best in the country by ESPN, and Crowell trimmed his list to Georgia and Alabama this fall.
Wednesday, Georgia was the big winner. Crowell joins the “Dream Team” promoted by Georgia coach Mark Richt, who brought in an impressive haul in the weeks leading up to signing day with some of the top prospects from Georgia and the Southeast including Thomas County Central defensive end Ray Drew and Valdosta tight end Jay Rome.
Crowell was named the Ledger-Enquirer All-Bi-City Offensive Player of the Year in 2009 and 2010 and has rushed for more than 3,600 yards and 42 touchdowns in the previous two seasons.
