Historic Columbus Foundation's Third annual Celebrate Columbus! will spotlight Coca-Cola. This is HCF's educational event. The first two put the spotlight on Bibb City and the Chattahoochee River.
It will be 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. March 24 in the St. Luke Ministry Center, 301 11th St.
This event kicks off the 45th anniversary year of HCF. The featured speaker is Phil Mooney, who heads up the Coca-Cola Archives in Atlanta.
He's been in that position since 1977, and he will talk about Columbus' connection to Coca-Cola from Dr. John Pemberton to W.C. Bradley and Ernest Woodruff.
Never miss a local story.
Mooney is a "super-collector of all things Coca-Cola," according to his biography. He attends conventions and visits private collections all over the world.
There will be exhibits of local Coca-Cola collections and there will be a silent auction of Coca-Cola-inspired art by local artists.
Tickets are $25 or $400 for a table.
