The Columbus Police Department and Crime Stoppers are seeking help from the public in finding a forgery suspect.
On July 9, a man presented a stolen forged check for $2,000 to a teller at SunTrust Bank. The check was made payable to Jamarcus Derico who produced an ID of a counterfeit Florida drivers license.
Police say the suspect Drew Denel Johnson made a company check for the listed amount to a fictitious individual then signed and converted the check to cash. Police say he attempted to repeat the act several times.
The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male with short cut hair, a goatee, medium build and uneven teeth.
