Columbus police say a 56-year-old man stabbed his roommate in the hand with scissors, sending the blades completely through the other man’s hand.
David Culpepper Jr., of 23rd Street, faces a charge of aggravated assault in connection with the early Saturday stabbing, reports state.
According to police, the suspect’s 52-year-old roommate was sleeping on the kitchen floor when the suspect confronted him around 2:10 a.m. The sleeping man felt threatened, and he stood up.
That’s when the suspect came at him with a pair of scissors. The roommate raised his hands to protect himself, and the suspect stabbed him in the left hand, sending the blades into his palm and out the top of his hand, reports state.
The suspect was at the home when officers arrived and he was arrested. The roommate was taken to The Medical Center and was listed in stable condition, police said.
Reports state that the men had lived together for just more than a year.
