Columbus State University is hosting two science events this week showcasing the work of local high school and middle school students.
On Tuesday and Wednesday about 140 students will compete in the Columbus Regional Science Fair. The public is welcome to view the entries and judges' results from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
The event is taking place in the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center.
The Science Olympiad Regional Tournament, will take place 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday in several CSU buildings. The Lumpkin Center and the CSU Intramural Fields should have the most interesting experiments for the public to watch.
Students from 10 middle schools will participate.
A 4 p.m. awards ceremony will be at the Davidson Student Center.
The Saturday event involves competitors conducting and demonstrating experiments, the science fair is an opportunity for students to display the results of completed research.
