Valentine’s Day can be an emotional time of year. Though many may write it off as a “Hallmark holiday,” there is still a little extra comfort when you have someone to celebrate or boycott the day with.
After all, it’s not like you can avoid it. Every other commercial on television this time of year shows a man giving a woman a piece of jewelry, online advertisements for floral delivery services abound and restaurants all over town offer the ubiquitous couple’s special.
Whether you’re single or missing your significant other due to a long distance relationship or deployment, it might be good to have some distraction on Monday.
Sarah McLean, local crafter extraordinaire, has been using old sweaters to make pillows for years, but she recently dubbed a new purpose for the craft.
Women who miss their significant others, or those without, can find a little extra comfort with The Boyfriend Sweater Pillow.
“Just search for a sweater, making sure you have permission before cutting up a favorite, and in no time you’ll be turning it into a pillow you can cuddle up with on the couch when your loved one is away,” wrote McLean in her directions for the project. “And if there’s no boyfriend, husband or someone special, all the more reason to make your couch or home extra cozy, just for you!”
