At a Muscogee County School District retreat and planning conference Saturday, Muscogee County School District Superintendent Susan Andrews said she would propose to the school board at a work session on Monday that construction begin this summer on air conditioning the gyms at all of the elementary schools.
That work, to be funded by the 2009 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, was to begin in the summer of 2012.
"This is a phase two project," said Andrews. "We are about ready to move into phase two projects and I want to begin with this one. This will mean that every student in the district has benefited from the SPLOST."
