A 19-year-old convicted of armed robbery will serve every day of his 13-year sentence, court officials said.
Jurors convicted John McNeil of the May 8, 2009, armed robbery and aggravated assault of two women outside of the Broadway Country’s after around four hours of deliberation on Tuesday. Muscogee County Superior Court Chief Judge John Allen then sentenced him to 13 years in prison, followed by 12 on probation, officials said.
McNeil and Siran A. Wood, 19, were accused of using a black handgun to take $51 and a purse from an 18-year-old and $42, a wallet and credit cards from a 47-year-old as the women left the restaurant around 9:25 p.m., records state.
Wood pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault in November 2009. He was sentenced to six years in prison, followed by six on probation, records state.
