Glenwood is on the market for a new boys basketball coach, but there's no rush to fill the vacancy just yet, according to the school's athletic director.
Josh McConnell stepped down from the position at the end of the Gators' season in early February in order to open more time for his family and to better balance his coaching load, athletic director Tim Fanning said. McConnell will remain the football team's defensive coordinator and as an assistant baseball coach, Fanning said.
McConnell coached the Gators basketball team to a 10-12 finish with its season ending at the AISA Class AAA Region 1 tournament with a loss to Hooper.
Fanning said the basketball coaching position has been posted on the team's website but that there is no rush to fill it at this point in the year.

"We just posted it recently, and (the search) isn't really active yet," Fanning said. "It won't pick up until next month, probably."
