I'm not surprised that Jacob Lusk is the only "American Idol" contestant whose name is trending on Google this afternoon.
He was virtually unknown until Thursday's Hollywood episode, when his emotional version of "God Bless the Child" attracted a fan following. Watch the performance:
A YouTube commenter calls it "the best moment ever in Idol history." An exaggeration? Maybe. But you have to admit that Jacob -- a 23-year-old spa concierge from California -- is somewhat intriguing, especially when he sobs uncontrollably post-performance.
No surprise: Jacob was among the 60 contestants who advanced to the next phase of the competition.
