A clogged 24-inch sewer line on Custer Road sent almost 15,000 gallons of raw sewage into Upatoi Creek Tuesday morning, Columbus Water Works officials said.
The spill which lasted about an hour was reported at 8:56 a.m. Officials estimated 14,867 gallons of sewage spilled into Upatoi Creek before the obstruction was cleared and flow returned to normal. Upatoi Creek flows into the Chattahoochee River.
