Reporters Alan Riquelmy and Sonya Sorich offer some weekend recommendations. Read our To Do newsletter for more ideas.
Are you ready for some...spring?
That's right, reprobates. We're starting spring early here in the Chattahoochee Valley. Highs in the 70s, light showers and Daisy Dukes are already on the scene. Cast your cardigan aside and join me at the following:
Tron: "Tron: Legacy" is now playing at the IMAX theater at the Infantry museum. Get your 3D glasses and see a show at 3 or 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Tickets are $8-10.
Never miss a local story.
Walk Georgia: Do something vaguely wholesome by joining the kickoff event for Walk Georgia from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center, 3535 S. Lumpkin Road, just across the street from the Infantry museum. Remember, you can't claim you ran 14 miles when all you did was clean your bathroom. So start walking.
Home and Garden Show: You might think this is an odd activity if you care nothing for homes and gardens. You'd be right. However, giveaways are involved. Check it out 9-5 p.m. Saturday and 10-4 p.m. Sunday. Bring $2 to get in.
Bed head FTW
Go ahead, flaunt those pajama pants all weekend. You won't take too much criticism if you opt for these picks:
Pancake Jamboree: The Exchange Club of Columbus will host its annual Pancake Jamboree Saturday at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, 8827 Heiferhorn Way. The event is 7 a.m.-noon. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children ages 3-9.
Valley Interfaith Promise Bed Race: Teams race beds on wheels beginning at noon Saturday at 14th Street and Broadway. Free to watch. Added bonus: I'm a judge.
Oscars: Go ahead, lounge in your pajamas while watching the Oscars, which air 8 p.m. Sunday on ABC. Click here for live updates throughout the show.
