Ricky Tarrant scored 47 points to lead Pleasant Grove to a 76-59 win against Russell County on Friday in the AHSAA Class 5A Central Region final at Alabama State's Dunn-Oliver Acadome.
The loss ended the Warriors' season with a 24-8 record, one game shy of the state semifinals in Birmingham.
Rodney Cooper, an Alabama signee, scored 36 points for Russell County, but the Warriors couldn't overcome an extended offensive drought. They scored only 13 points in the second and third quarters.

The Spartans advance to the state semifinals against Lee-Huntsville in the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex on March 4 at 2:30 p.m. ET.
