James Brock, accused of the double homicide of the mother of his two children and her friend, was convicted of murder this afternoon and was sentenced to life without the chance of parole.
Muscogee County Superior Court Judge Bobby Peters found Brock, 24, guilty of the murders of Tyesha McNair and Terence Clark, both 21. Clark was found lying in the parking lot of Crystal Court Apartments early Oct. 13, 2009. McNair was found lying in the fetal position on her living room floor.
Both had been shot several times.
Prosecutors claimed Brock waited for hours before he used a key to get inside McNair's apartment and shot her and her friend. Defense attorney Shevon Sutcliffe Thomas, who represents Brock, argued that the deaths were the result of a robbery gone bad.

Brock opted against having a jury hear his case, and instead chose Peters to be the sole jurist who would decide on his guilt. Testimony in his trial began Tuesday and ended Friday.
