A Columbus man was arrested Monday night on accusations he tried to rob two businesses that day, reports state.
David Mark Pittman, 40, faces two counts of attempted armed robbery. He was arrested outside 3319 Fifth Ave. at 11 p.m., police said.
According to reports, the suspect tried to rob two different stores just 90 minutes before his arrest. He demanded money from the Family Dollar, 3126 Veterans Parkway, and a Marathon gas station, 3402 Veterans Parkway, while pretending to have a gun. He ran from each store without getting any cash.
No one was hurt during the attempted robberies, police said.
