Celebrating its 75th anniversary, the Junior League of Columbus decided to promote healthy food choices for children and announces its first Run for the Kitchen.
Through this project, the Junior League wants to promote healthy lifestyle choices and help reverse the growing problem of childhood obesity.
Proceeds from the run will benefit the League's programs and support projects that focus on its signature issue, "the healthy child."
Run for the Kitchen includes a 5-K run and a one-mile Fun Run.
Never miss a local story.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. March 26 on Columbus State University's Intramural Field on main campus. The Fun Run begins at 8 a.m. and the 5-K at 9 a.m.
Chip timing will be provided.
All runners are invited to stay after the races for an after-party that will offer healthy food and music. The chef sponsor is St. Francis Hospital.
Entry fees are $20 for the 5K and $10 for the Fun Run.
