Columbus police arrested a Kohl’s employee Wednesday on accusations she’s stolen more than $2,000 since January, reports state.
Jessica E. Allen, 26, of Phenix City, faces a count of felony theft by taking, records state.
According to police, the suspect is accused of falsifying receipts for returns and taking cash from the register. The suspect has been watched since January, and it’s believed she’s taken at least $2,260.
Police said surveillance cameras caught the suspect taking $410 on Wednesday.
The suspect told police that her husband lost his job and that she needed the money to pay bills. Officers then arrested her and took her to the Muscogee County Jail, reports state.
