A stranger inappropriately grabbed a woman outside Ashley Station Apartments early Wednesday, Columbus police said.
The 27-year-old woman was talking to her sister outside of their apartment when the suspect approached and started talking to them. The sister then left, and the suspect kept talking, asking questions such as her age, reports state.
The suspect told the woman where he “hangs out,” saying he’s not from the area. He then tried to kiss the woman and began groping her, police said.
The woman pushed the suspect away, ran to her apartment and closed the door. She heard the suspect tell her he knew where she was, and she then called police and her sister, reports state.
The woman told police she doesn’t know the suspect, though she’d seen him in the area for about a month. The suspect always has a plastic cup in his hands and often appears drunk, police report.
The suspect is a black man in his late 40s or early 50s, 170 pounds and between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-2. He wore a hunter green long sleeve flannel shirt, gray undershirt, dark jeans and a dark ball cap, police said.
