Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia were eliminated on Thursday's episode of "American Idol."
Auburn University alum Paul McDonald joined them in the bottom three. The double elimination was due to the judges' decision to use their save on Casey Abrams last week.
Weigh in: Did the right singers go home?
Over 55 million votes were cast this week, according to host Ryan Seacrest. In addition to performances by Fantasia, as well as Jamie Foxx and will.i.am., Thursday's results show featured mini group performances by the "Idol" contestants.
Lauren and Scotty sang "I Told You So." Naima and Jacob sang "Solid." Haley, Thia and Pia sang "Teenage Dream." James, Stefano, Paul and Casey sang "Band on the Run."
Hours before the show, Thia and Naima had the most votes in a Ledger-Enquirer online poll to determine which singers would go home this week.
These nine singers remain in the competition: Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald, Pia Toscano, Stefano Langone, James Durbin, Casey Abrams, Jacob Lusk and Haley Reinhart.
