A man charged with striking his wife before her fatal shooting Saturday morning made his $1,000 bond that day.
Authorities charged Edward R. “Bubba” Wade with third-degree assault in connection with a domestic dispute with his wife, Tammy Danielle Wade, 28, of Phenix City. Neighbors said they heard shouting before gunshots. Authorities responded to the home around 3:25 a.m., investigators said.
Deputies found Tammy Wade with an apparent gunshot wound to the head in her bathroom. She was pronounced dead at her home at 165 Lee Road 597, authorities said.
Lee County Sheriff’s Capt. Van Jackson said on Saturday that authorities were investigating the circumstances of Tammy Wade’s shooting.
Jackson said authorities recovered two 9mm handguns in the bathroom of the residence. He declined to comment on any statements Edward Wade has made to authorities.
Jackson said the couple had two children, but they were not home at the time of the dispute.
