A security guard was robbed late Monday while patrolling Springfield Crossing Apartments, Columbus police said.
The 20-year-old guard was on foot patrol around 10:40 p.m. at the 3390 N. Lumpkin Road apartments when he heard splashing in the pool. He ran to the pool, and saw four unknown men in the water and two other men standing nearby, reports state.
Police said that the guard approached one of the men on the sidewalk, leading those in the pool to run. The man on the sidewalk then pulled a chrome Desert Eagle revolver, pointed it at the guard and called over the men who had been in the pool.
The men then went through the guard’s pockets, taking his handcuffs, ID and a set of keys, police said. They then ran from the area, and the guard saw a green Ford Taurus speed away from the parking lot shortly afterward, reports state.

Police said the guard was uninjured.
