A Columbus man accused of shooting a man associating with his ex-wife was indicted Tuesday for criminal attempt to commit murder, court records state.
Rodney Medley, 59, also was indicted on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime for the Jan. 29 shooting outside a Standing Boy Road home that put 50-year-old Bobby Steve Fuller in the hospital.
Police say Medley had been having some domestic issues with his ex-wife and after he realized that Fuller was at the house, Medley went there around 2:30 a.m.
Columbus Police Detective J.W. Bailey said Fuller was at his truck when Medley shot him at “point blank range.” Fuller was struck once in the torso and once near his jaw. Bailey said another shot grazed the top of Fuller’s head.
