The Rev. Hal Brady stepped up to the pulpit at St. Luke United Methodist Church as its pastor for the last time on Sunday.
Brady and his wife Myron are moving to Atlanta by the end of the month, to be closer to family. Brady plans to start a TV ministry and will continue his work on various committees.
Their sons Brad and Jason attended the service Sunday, as did their daughter Elizabeth along with more than 750 people.
“Famous Last Words” was the title of Brady’s last sermon, as he closed his 14-year chapter as pastor of St. Luke United Methodist Church. At 72, he is retiring as a full-time pastor. Preaching before a capacity crowd at the 10:55 a.m. service, Brady focused on the last few verses of 2 Corinthians, in which the Apostle Paul encouraged Christians in Corinth to live in peace and be reconciled with one another.
