Columbus Crime Stoppers is asking the public for information about suspects using counterfeit cash in the area.
Suspects passed or tried to pass fake money three times in October. The first time it was at 1:30 a.m. Oct. 17 at the Wynnton Road Circle K. A man entered the store and tried to buy several lottery tickets with three fake $20 bills, reports state.
The next day someone bought items with fake $20s from Sunglass Hut at Peachtree Mall.
On Oct. 20, a man tried to buy two hot dogs and a drink from a Buena Vista Road Circle K. He pulled some money from his pocket and tried to pass a $100 bill. The clerk questioned the money, and the man ran from the store without the food, police said.
