Investigators combing a north Columbus apartment where a man was found dead this evening said they had preliminarily ruled out foul play.
“At this time, everything appears to me to be a natural death, but there are some questions that I have and they can only be answered by autopsy,” Muscogee County Coroner Bill Thrower told reporters outside the apartment at 7700 Veterans Parkway. “At this time, it appears to me to be either natural or an accidental death.”
Thrower declined to release further details of the death, saying he’d not yet notified the man’s next of kin.
Authorities responded to the residence about 5 p.m. The police presence slowed rush-hour traffic at times along the busy thoroughfare.
