A soldier was charged with hit and run after a traffic wreck Monday afternoon, reports state.
Andrew Davohn Kelly, 24, faces charges of hit and run, failure to report accident with injuries, failure to maintain lane and no state tag, police said.
According to police, Kelly was driving east on Manchester Expressway about 5:30 p.m. when he suddenly moved into the right lane to avoid a collision with the car in front of him. However, Kelly struck a car driven by Ingor Parker while making the maneuver.
Kelly stopped and got out of his car to check on Parker, who told him she was hurt. Kelly then went back to his car and fled the area, reports state.Parker followed Kelly to the Publix on Woodruff Farm Road, where officers arrested him, police said.
