The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the plaza level of the Government Center, 100 10th Street.
Those interested in donating blood should bring a driver's license or two other forms of identification with them. Potential donors might also want to bring a list of medications with them.
For a successful blood donation, the Red Cross recommends donors eat a healthy meal, avoid fatty foods and drink an extra 16 oz. of water before donating. After the donation, donors should drink plenty of fluids and avoid strenuous physical activity.
